Move It Monday – Turkey Trot? Jingle Bell Run? New Years Day Dash?

Healthy MondayThere is nothing like a looming deadline to jumpstart a project!

This time of year every city seems to have their annual 5K and 10K fun runs coming up. In Seattle, we have the Jingle Bell Run in mid-December, which is also a fundraiser for the arthritis foundation.

5K is a doable goal for most people (it’s just a hair over 3 miles), and on most courses you can even walk it.

So, this week, if you’ve been procrastinating on your training, pick an event coming up that you care about, and tie a fitness goal to it. Maybe it’s the annual holiday touch football game with the family, teaching your son to ride his new bike on Christmas Day, or the Jingle Bell Dash. Make it meaningful, make it public, and make it imminent.
