Move It Monday – Inspiration

What moves you?

What is your inspiration for taking care of yourself, staying in shape, or getting in shape? Who do you watch move, and say, “dang, I want to move like THAT!”  Or, who do you watch move and think, “I never want to be that person.”

For me, it started with watching my grandparents lose their mobility and having an increasingly difficult time in their daily life. I simply KNEW that that couldn’t be me. Now, I love to watch people move, find the ones I admire, and take pieces of their training and incorporate it in to my own.

This week, I want you to figure out who your inspiration is. It’s better to have a “this is who I want to be” rather than “this is who I don’t want to be” role model, because the behaviors in a “this is who I want to be” role model are easier to figure out.

  • Be specific and find a name — the more specific you are, the easier it is to be inspired
  • Write it down.
  • Every day, look at that name, and find one small thing you can do that brings your closer to your goal. Be inspired!
