Prepping for the RKC snatch test

The RKC snatch test is three weeks from today. I’m not ready. I did a test tonight, and I got to 25 on the left and 18 on the right (I need 30 on each side). I can do more volume than that, but not without switching hands (and the test only allows one switch).

So, back to the way I prepped last time around. Basically, I did GTG with snatches 3-4x/day. It gave me the time with the bells in my hands and the reps that I needed. If I can get 15-20 reps in each time (being sure to maintain form), then I’ll have the volume that I need, and some wicked hand conditioning.

The good thing is that I have two weeks that I can really hit it hard before I need to taper. And, I’ve started a new job where I’m working from home, so I’ll even have the access to my bells to make it so.

And, I guess this means that I’m taking kettlebells up to the San Juan islands with me next week. Thank heaven’s it’s just a car ride and a ferry ride (no flights).
