Last week I was getting my summer blond on, and my colorist is obsessed with me growing my hair out. The reason it’s down past my shoulders now is solely his fault. Turns out he’s right, I get tons of compliments on it now.
But, I digress…. The reason I bring this up is because he was asking me how I style it. I said that I usually leave it down, because I really don’t know how to put it up and make it look nice. He launched in to this monologue about how I needed to be flipping through fashion mags for inspiration, how the current style was organic, and “that no one comes out of the womb knowing this. you need to practice.” I couldn’t believe it — a SAID principle lecture from my colorist!
Again, it’s good and bad news. The good news is that means that anything’s possible. The bad news is that the phrase “I can’t” really shouldn’t apply 99% of the time. Because everything is a skill!
